Two articles in Jewelry Crafts Magazine

by

Two of my articles are in the April issue of Jewelry Crafts Magazine. The first one is instructions for making a mixed media necklace like Drum Beat, shown below. It includes fabric beads, wire, and pre-made ceramic beads.

The second article concerns the theme of the issue: choosing colors. I’ve used one of Jeanne Kent’s beautiful fused glass V pendants, and written a practical lesson in color theory, along with (of course) instructions for making the necklace. This poor little necklace remains unnamed. Those of you who know how name-challenged I am…maybe you can give me some suggestions?

    Congratulations, Cyndi. AGAIN. LOL

Let’s see, that necklace reminds me of a gorgeous stained glass window…Streaming Light? Blue Prism?

    ACK….not enough coffee yet!

  2. Cyndi Lavin Says:

Oh, I do like “Blue Prism”! Simple, to the point…descriptive. Thanks!

  3. Bobbi Chukran Says:

    You’re welcome.

    Or how about “Cerulean Sky”?

It’s got that alliterative thing going for it.

  4. Cyndi Lavin Says:

I think I’m liking that one even better! I’m going to write down all the suggestions and save the leftovers for the next piece I can’t name :-)

  5. Elaine Ray Says:

    Cyndi,

Drum Beat is wonderful, probably would make my own heart skip a beat to pick it up and wear it! You are inspiring me to make something special to wear to my son’s next percussion concert. It will be something to give visual support for the sound of those drums.

    Thanks for your inspiration,
    Elaine Ray

  6. Cyndi Lavin Says:

Go for it Elaine! Maybe you should make something that’s noisy when you wear it :-)
